Submission Guideline
1. Journal of Electoral Studies is an academic journal published by the Election Study Center of National Chengchi University. It has been consistently indexed in the first tier of Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI) and has been recognized with the "Selected Journal Communication Award" (for both five-year citations and long-term citation impact) by the National Central Library. The journal is issued semiannually, in May and November, accepting manuscripts on a rolling basis year-round.
2. Scope of Submissions
- Electoral systems and behavior
- Political psychology
- Political communication
- Public opinion and its role in politics
- Survey methodology and practical applications
- Big data analytics in the social sciences
- Research methodologies
3. Submissions must fall into academic articles, research notes, or workshop papers and may be written in either Chinese or English.
4. Manuscripts must be original and not under review or previously published in any other outlet. Translations are also not accepted. Authors found submitting the same manuscript to multiple outlets ("dual submissions") will be barred from submitting to the journal for three years.
5. Manuscripts should not exceed 20,000 words and must comply with the journal's formatting guidelines.
6. Submissions must include the following:
- A title in both Chinese and English
- An abstract of no more than 500 words and corresponding keywords
- Biographical details for all listed authors, including Chinese and English names, affiliations, positions, contact information, and email addresses
7. All manuscripts undergo evaluation by at least two anonymous reviewers and are subject to final approval by the editorial board. Authors will typically receive a preliminary review decision within eight weeks of submission.
8. Upon acceptance, all authors must agree to transfer copyright to the Election Study Center, National Chengchi University, unless otherwise stipulated. The journal reserves the exclusive right to publish and distribute accepted manuscripts. Authors retain the right to use their work for non-commercial purposes, such as in compilations or educational materials. Authors must sign a copyright transfer agreement at the time of final acceptance; failure to provide this document will preclude publication.
9. The journal does not provide monetary remuneration for published articles. Authors will receive a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article.
